Why microbrands are the best value under $1,000
Microbrands are small independent watch companies, often started by enthusiasts, that sell mostly online. Without big advertising budgets or retail markups, many offer sapphire crystals, proven Japanese or Swiss movements and thoughtful designs for well under $1,000.
Prices are each brand's US price when we checked in October 2026. Microbrands often release in small batches, so popular models sell out and come back; join a brand's mailing list if your pick is sold out.
